Italian violin makers of the 16th to 17th centuries.

Today, I would like to explain about Italian violin makers of the 16th to 17th centuries.
First, refer to this table. In this table find Nicolo Amati, Antonio Stradivarius,  and Giuseppe Guarneri (Guarneri Del gesu)

This is table of Brescian School, Amati family, Stradivarius Family, and Guarneri Family's table.
As you can see Brescian School had only two students.  Amati family were five people and they were all violin makers.the most famous of them was Nicolo Amati.

Stradivarius family's violin makers were three people.  This family’s best maker was Antonio Stradivarius.

Five people of Guarneri were violin makers. This family’s most well known maker was Guarneri Del Gesu.
I think this era was golden age for violin making, because Amati, Stradivari, and Guarneri were people who made the legendary instruments.  Next week, I will explain Guarneri family. See you next week.
